guilty as charged? the jury's still out

so.......guilty or not guilty of unusual levels of testosterone due to intake of performance-enhancing drugs? my jury is still out, and i guess in the scheme of my own personal life it doesn't matter either way. Mr.Yellow-shirt Floyd knows the truth and of course he's sticking to his story.
his story is that the night before Stage 17 of the Tour de France he partook in drinking of alcohol/whiskey, and the other part of his story is that the testing used is, in some way, "off" and that he's being set up (because the testers know the names of the people linked to the samples).
in my little research this morning, most tests say that alcohol results in lower levels of testosterone and altered levels of other reproductive hormones. however, some other research (conducted on rodents) showed that alcohol can induce a rapid increase in plasma and brain concentrations of testosterone.
so, this contradiction was NOT helpful in my research.
who knows if we will ever know the truth, but it does seem odd that his main arguments are that, as a pro athlete, he was drinking whiskey the night before stage 17 and that the testing is not accurate. hmmm......i'm no expert, but self-medicating with alcohol the night before a 200 km race seems a little "off" for a professional athlete. yes, alcohol can make one's physical ailments feel particularly better, but i'm just saying, people don't usually feel like they are ready to bike 200 km the morning after drinking so much that their physical pain is diminished.........
opinions, thoughts?

I think he's fine. A) he tested "negative" multiple times before the race. B) the synthetic testosterone that they apparently found takes weeks to have an affect on your body...so technically would not have made any difference in the outcome of the race. C) there were tests performed after stage 17 that were negative...leaving me to believe that he is being set up.

just my opinion. and actually, i could care less....enhancement drugs or not - I could NEVER do it!

First off, I'm supremely impressed by your research. Kudos to you.

Secondly, I don't care about all of this.

Thirdly, I agree. I'm not quite sure that right before a huge race I'd drink a substantiative amount of liquor.

Fourthly, I think that guy is creepy. Bring back Lance.
