home sweet home, eventually.

i spent my weekend moving into a new place. i've moved so many times over the last 9 years of life, i can't even begin to count.

moving is good because:
it makes you realize how much stuff you have, and that you should be thankful
it forces you to clean weird corners of your old and new homes
it helps you downsize to get rid of stuff you don't need

moving is bad because:
it makes you realize how much stuff you have, and that you have to MOVE it
it forces you to use muscles you didn't know you had
you have to organize a lot of stuff and find creative new places for it

Overall, moving does give me a sense of starting over, and reorganizing of my life. it's a LOT of hard work to move, and every time i do it i think "i will never do this again" - and OF COURSE that is not true. but i'm slowly learning that when you look at your stuff (when it's away and organized) you spatially understimate (big time) how much time it will take you to move. i KNOW this must be universal. what looks like a "little bit of stuff" is really A LOT of stuff that will take about twice as many boxes and trips that you originally estimate.
