alright.....after finally getting the lawn mower figured out (did not have the throttle in a certain position...who knew?!?), i mowed the really long lawn today.
my large back yard has a bit of a hill. so this, combined with the fact that the grass was WAY too long and little wet from the morning dew...made the mowing pretty difficult.
i had to stop halfway through to catch my breath.
i wanted to, in that moment, know an 11 year old boy so i could pay him $10 to do it for me. but, alas, i do not know an 11 year old boy around here.
i have blisters on my hands from this event. and although it was kind of fun to see my crappy mow-job, it was not all that fulfilling. in fact, i was trying to understand, the whole time i was mowing, what joy is found in mowing a lawn.
i may never know.
