i've entered the world of lawn maintenance. i can't say i'm enthusiastic about it. i really am not. the whole purchasing of a lawn mower made me bitter to begin with (i'd rather spend $115 on shoes or fun earrings), so that didn't get my relationship with my lawn mower off to a good start.
i'm okay with the actual work, really. i do wish i had a desire to really beautify my lawn, it's just something i'll put off until it needs done.
as a funny aside: my landlords are real weird/bossy about me keeping up the mowing, so i didn't have time this morning to mow the yard like i intended, and so i quickly used the weed-eater to do a quick trim of the problem areas so that if they did a drive-by inspection that it wouldn't look all that bad. i didn't think i was going overboard/making it obvious. but, then, my neighbor offered to let me use his lawn mower and i explained that i was making it look manageable until tomorrow. i guess it must have been bad enough for him to notice that i was weed-eating areas that probably need a good mowing!
