so, i'm trying to decide if something i do is normal or quirky?
i leave shoes everywhere. on the back porch, by the front door, and various places in between. one pair out in my bedroom, and a pair in the little hallway, and 3 pairs currently in my office (one that i wore today).
do most people put their shoes away, or do they collect somewhere? or all over?
(what is up with the shoes in the picture. they hurt my feet to look at them!)

Ty has your same problem. I always out mine away because it drive me crazy to not be able to find them.

I do the same thing - one pair under the coffee table, one next to the kitchen table, most strewn over the bedroom floor.
I try to put them away. So I can find them.
yep...my shoes are always all over the house. my husband ends up throwing them all in the hall closet so eventually there are like 10 pairs of shoes in there that i have to take upstairs.
perhaps we all just have too many shoes??

My hubby B-rent has shown my the beauty of a decluttered, organized, clean household during our almost nine years together. My one holdout to my former life as a slob is my shoes. I know it drives him crazy sometimes but I seem to have some sort of mental block with taking off my shoes and walking upstairs to my closet and putting them away. Maybe subconsciously it's my way of letting him know that he cannot change me completely? When I'm feeling especially amorous I walk around the house collecting shoes and put them away nicely in my closet because I know it will make him breath a little easier. (Don't get the idea he's an uptight jerk, he just likes a neat space to exist in... I do too except for my shoes;)

My wife is right, she was a slob...but I was way too anal about stuff. This aspect of our life together, as well as almost all others, have come into balance in our 9 years. Now I just leave mine at the door until I have a reason to go upstairs.
I do pick up her shoes sometimes when I find a bunch of 'em laying around. I line them up on the stairs - one pair per step. I think the record is like 9 pairs. A couple more and all of the steps would have been taken.
i think i used to do this at home when i was a kid, and have had roommates ever since, so needed to keep my space picked up. now, it's like i'm on my own and i have NO reason to move the shoes and when i look at them i think, "i live alone, who cares?!!" - but the rest of my space is pretty free and clear of clutter. except for the shoes (like M)
Totally normal!
All my "good" shoes...the ones I don't wear that often or on special occasions are neatly stacked in boxes and on a book stand. However, my everyday shoes, main work shoes, house shoes are ALL over the place! I don't even clear room for them on my shoe shelf b/c I know they will never be there.
Everywhere. Mine are everywhere.
C. has accepted it as just part of who I am.
