ahhh....youthful bliss

my first job was in FL working as a social worker in a public school with 5th-graders. there is still one student who has always kept my address and phone number and randomly stays in touch me.
he called me the other day and we were chatting, and the topic of aging came up. he said, "wow, you are getting old....the LAST time i checked, you were 23!" (this is his way of being sarcastic and making fun of me, as he has NEVER lets me forget that i'm getting older).
to this, i replied back, "you are getting old too! the last time i checked, YOU were 11 years old!" (he is about to turn 17 this summer).
he pondered this for a second and stated, boldly, "man, WE ARE getting old!!"
yes, 17 is just SO OLD...he must certainly be on a strict metamucil-for-breakfast diet by now...
