this is a lovely photo of my friend who walked in the Flying Pig marathon in Cincinnati several years ago. it was cold and rainy and she was SUCH a trooper...very inspiring. this was the first marathon that i had ever been to, and i will NEVER forget the loud cheering at the finish line and how i teared up when i would see people with Team in Training jerseys on (like hers below) - offering a tribute to those who they were running/walking for. oh, and her little fingers were like sausages afterwards and i've never seen someone eat pizza, peanut butter and jelly, a hot dog and gatorade all in 2 bites! the girl walked 26.2 miles, can you blame her!

I think it is so amazing when people do this! I want to lose weight and get in shape so that in a year or two (by the age of 30) I will do something like this for MS. Either a walk or the Bike to the Bay.
