i'm not a parent...
...but please do not BEAT your child in the middle of Wal-Mart until he is kicking and screaming. it makes people uncomfortable and it makes you look like a terrible parent.
I'll throw it out there that I AM a parent. And usually when my kid is acting up in a store, I try to use a gentle voice in calming them down. And if they are in immediate danger, I yell their name and then make the rest of my sentence a whisper to them and firmly tell them to never do that again.
I'm thinking beating your child is really going to make them settle down. I would be screaming too if you beat me in a store. I hate that people say mean things (or use a mean tone) with their kids. No wonder there are so many people in this world.
I meant, no wonder their are so many MEAN people in this world..... I shouldn't type on a blog when I'm tired. (you're like, "Yes, idiot, there ARE people in this world. Profound.")

UGH. I hate that.
I think when we see this we should be able to grab the nearest paddle-link item and beat the parent and say, "How do YOU like it?"
That makes me want to punch people.
