why, you ask?
because i practiced some SERIOUS self control in Target today. i only spent $42 on a wedding gift. not a single item for myself. this MUST be unprecedented.
did i want that CUTE purse for $9.99? Yep.
did i want those C9 shorts on sale for a mere $7? Yep.
and, did i long for those 2 really CUTE shirts that would look great with white pants and could crossover as work attire? Yep.
my reward for practicing the self control should be to go back and buy the things, but i will do no such thing and simply bask in the glow of my strength!

that IS serious self control.
i can never walk out of target without buying something for myself. i try, believe me.
i make a list before going to target and say "i'm gonna stick to it!" and then i get home and have 2 bags full of crap not on my list.
i need a target 12 step program.

I'm glad someone has self control. I could've walked out without the clothes, too. Only I would've thought about them every day thereafter, picturing all the outfits I could've put together, only to think, "Oh wait, I didn't buy them! And now they're gone because they were so cheap! What have I done?! Oh, the humanity!"
