movie review

i saw The Happening (the latest film directed by M. Night Shyamalan) and i had hopes that it would be thrillingly good.
nope. not really.
you can read MTV's Kurt Loder's review here. he about sums it up.
overall, a D+ (not even sure if i'd recommend renting it)

you just have to wonder if M. Night can ever recapture the magic of "The Sixth Sense"? i think he's trying to hard to made that kind of movie.

thanks for the review. i'll wait until it's on video on demand. maybe. :)

I went and saw this movie just the other night and I walked away from this movie not quite feeling angry, but more mystified that someone paid M. Night to make this movie. The editing was terrible (you could see boom mikes in at least three different shots), acting was mediocre, and the whole point had to be spelled out to you by a doctor in an interview. There was no implying what was really happening. No. That crap was so confusing, M. Night had to write dialogue that told you exactly what was happening.

I shake my head at you, M. Night.
