...about what to do with my life.
here is what you should know:
i am 29. single. educated with a masters degree in social work from Case Western Reserve University (OH). i have worked for 7+ years in social work, college admissions, and college counseling. i have family in NC, family in OH, most of my friends are in OH and the rest are spread out all over the world.
i could go anywhere. do many things. but i don't know what to do, really. i'm stuck. sometimes i lean in one direction, then an hour later i lean in another.
what would YOU do if you were me. shout out some answers, this is a brainstorming session.

If I were you, I would:
•move to Cabo. (Or at least take a "sabbatical" to Cabo.)
•find 10 jobs from across the country, submit your resume and see what happens.
•consider starting your own consulting business.
•consider moving to Columbus.
•Make a list of ALL of those folks you've met at your current position (parents of the kids) and think about how, if possible, your network with them could help you...
•decide what the most important thing is for you right now and go from there. (I.e.: being close to family, being close to people your own age, a great job, etc.)
I know we'll talk about this more, just know that I support you 100%.
(I also miss you.)
I think the biggest thing is to HONESTLY think about what you want to be doing right now. I know that sounds like the obviously/easy answer, but it's true.
Anyone can tell you to do what they would do, but it really doesn't matter. YOU need to do what you want/need to do.
Where do YOU want to be?
Who do YOU want to be near?
What type of job do YOU want to be doing, ever day?
I have a good friend that was just going through this - dilemma. I told her what I wanted her to do, but also explained that I was biased. I want her to stay near me :) But she had to make the decision that suited her life best.
(Dr. Turtle - she wants to move to Cabo and be closer to me. Right?)
I like 2P's idea of sending out resumes across the country. Pick five to ten places that you've wanted to live. Places you know you'd love. Find open jobs there and get to sending!
I also think that maybe you could start implementing certain activities into your daily life. It's really easy to fall into a routine everyday and then find life not very exciting anymore. So what's something you've always wanted to do: learn to dance? play an instrument? batting practice with the delicious gardener across the street? Whatever it may be, I think that by taking steps to start doing more interesting things, you might find that you don't need to take such a drastic change.
