does any grown person feel completely compelled to watch fireworks each year on the 4th of July?
i feel indifferent towards them, but i liken my feelings towards fireworks to my feelings about It's a Small World - the ride at Disney: it seems better to watch them with children?
my friend, Two Pretzels, took some really cool photos of her fireworks in Cabo (thanks for those) - but i didn't even see fireworks this year. i felt like these photos curbed any urge at all for them.

Fireworks, like Christmas are not the same as when you were a kid. But I still enjoy them and it is fun to see my kids get excited.
Though I love fireworks and truly enjoy watching them it is hard to get excited about the ones we have in our town. I mean they are ok, but not worth going out, fighting the crowds, getting bit by bugs, for about 15 minutes of explosions.
Plus when I had my internship in FL. at a resort when I was in college I saw the best fireworks I have ever seen in my entire life! We were on the coast of St. Pete Beach and practically all the resorts on the coast released fireworks at the same time over the water. It was truly beautiful and now I feel like nothing can compare. (is that bad?!?!)
