would it be too much of a crazy idea to say that when i have kids i'd like to change the paint color of their walls every year?
this is totally hypothetical, but wouldn't it be kind of cool to have a different color room each year as a kid growing up?

That would be awesome.
I would have LOVED that growing up.
Want to know something cool about my Mom? When I was about 16, she let me pull up the carpet in my second-floor bedroom and paint it. It was NOT hardwood - just wood. I rented a sander (on my own), sanded the floor and painted it yellow.
I have NEVER, EVER been more proud or happy with myself and my room EVER than at that time.
I love that my Mom let me be me.
my mom let me get black carpet in my bedroom when we built our own house. i'm sure the people who own it are still pissed about that one!
also, she let me paint all over my older furniture - i loved that one.
i also almost talked her into letting me paint a mural on the wall.
oh, and one more thing, i really liked when we'd clean my room and organize it and switch it around. it made my life feel like new!
T.L. - You did have a cool room. I really loved your furniture! The black carpet just went with the room.
T.P. - I feel like a laid back mom. But I'm not sure I'd be able to let my child do that. Your mom is awesome, geez.
You are right. This is hypothetical. Unless they are old enough to paint it themselves. After painting almost every room in my house.... I'm pretty sure they'll be this color until I die. (ok, so not THAT long.)
Malissa! its me, Christine... just wanted to let you know I have a blogspot now.. come check me out sometime!
I always said if we had kids I would let them pick out what colors they had on their walls, at least every few years or so! I also think it would be fun to put chalkboard paint on the walls so that they could draw on the walls!!
Oh, how fun! Good idea.
