who is this man, you ask?
why...it's james blunt!
and herein i begin to tell you that i would never want to be a One Hit Wonder. if i were a musician, i would seek to have a few hit records perhaps, but not one singular hit.
it feels as though for the rest of your life, you'd be recognized as "the guy who sang that one song"
for example, here are a few that come to mind:
james blunt: you're beautiful
toni basil: hey mickey
dee lite: groove is in the heart
macy gray: i try
and this concludes this saturday morning's thoughts.

HAHA! Uh, totally!
I have James Blunt's CD and it is actually really good....it is unfortunate that he is just known for THAT song. How annoyed do ou think people like this are that they have one hit song that they have to hear over and over and sing over and over?!
great saturday observation :)
You should read the book, "One Hit Wonder" by Charlie Carillo (sp?). It's about a man who had one hit very young, and what his life turned into.
Not the best book ever, but it was cute - and quick read.
Ahhhahahaha. I'm laughing. So true.
I do like the song, though. Maybe one is better than none? That would be my question for Mr. Blunt. . are you glad you had at least one hit or would you wish you didn't have any?
Thanks for the laugh!
"Goodbye My Lover" is another great song by James Blunt. =)
I'm with W.K. - I loved James Blunt's CD and occasionally still listen to it.
And, I was super in to Macy Grey back in the day. (Loved her singing, just couldn't stand to hear her talk.)
Omg. I hated Dee lite.

...you've got to wonder if these people feel that they peaked when they had that one-hit...

I was thinking about James Taylor the other day - he's had a gazillion hits, right? But how tired of singing the SAME songs for 25 years is he? Same can be said for the Rolling Stones (are they still alive?), etc.
Poor Paul McCartney probably wants to put his "new" stuff out there when all anyone ever wants to hear is, "Yesterday."
Ah, we the public are fickle, no?
