my life in the south....

after a cursory glance, you may think "this is just a gas pump". but you would be OH so wrong.
this old school pump is about 2 miles from my work - in the MIDDLE OF NOWHERE! it has heavy bars on the windows of the actual store where you pay, buy your individually wrapped/don't-know-who-made-these brownies (for 99 cents), and inhale the cigarette smoke of the locals sitting around on windowsills and ratty chairs.

i love how when i get gas here, i feel like i am supporting some sort of grassroots, local business that has operated in this same way since at least the 70's. i am not super fond of all of the weird locals who stare at me, but i find myself pretending that i am way more brave than i actually am because, on some level, i expect to witness something awful every time i get my gas here.

also, whenever i pump the gas i get at least 10 extra cents worth of gas since the clicky-click pump always rattles right on by what i actually paid. it feels like they give me some extra gas to let me know they care?

tell me when that last happened to you at the high-falluten BP located in the city limits?
NEV-A......

lastly, the dead bugs just inside the bottom part of the glass is a disgustingly nice touch (go ahed, make the picture larger so you can experience them with me...).
