i don't get this, but i'd like to.
i am ALL about technology that makes life easier. the microwave, internet, cell phones, timers on coffee pots - whatever, great!
if you use this device, i'm begging you to help me understand.
maybe (if you are a hands-free user), you don't act like this - but it never fails to catch me off guard if the earpiece is on the other side of the head that i can't see, and the person is (more often than not) shouting into thin air. and (more often than not) the user doesn't even have anything in their hands. if your hands are already free, then why don't you make use of them the old-fashioned way and just use ONE (not two) of your hands for holding the phone and talking at a normal decibal level. you'd still have a total of ONE hand free!!
listen, if someone is physically incapable of holding a phone or if the hands really are full of something, then fine, but i have NEVER seen this as the case. usually the person is some business-type who thinks they wield more power than they really do, but also by talking about business transactions and "get him on the line with me", i think they are feeling even MORE falsely powerful.
i'm not meaning to offend, and if you use this device then just check yourself. ask yourself these questions:
1). Why do I use this device?
2). Are my hands really busy when I'm using it in public (not in private)?
3). Am I shouting?
4). Do I catch people staring at me and sending icy glares my way?
If your answers were: to feel more important than i really am, no my hands aren't busy in public, yes i shout, and yes people stare at me often.....then i hate to be the one to tell you that you might have a problem.
