if i ever see Bill or Melinda Gates in person, i'll hug them. today they donated half a billion dollars (over 5 years) to Global Fund to fight AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria.
the optimist in me thinks, "wow, that makes me tear up a little bit"
the cynic in me says, "umm...you'd think with the type of large and small donations being made to all kinds of medical research (AIDS, cancer, etc.) - we should be making progress, so therefore someone must not be using this money wisely".
i'll listen to the internal optimist, whilst drinking my glass of half-full milk today.
(2 things i'd like to know: why is Saddam's trial taking so long and where is he? Where does this research money really go? - i'll try to research both tomorrow)

Honestly, Miss. They are great people. I agree.
And, about Saddam's trial - I have no idea why it's taking so long. Please keep us posted. Perhaps it all of his hunger strikes? (As if anyone really cares about if he eats or not.)
