happily enough, i discovered a little 4-pack of these new aquafina chapstick products at wal-mart last weekend.
happily enough i gave one to my friend, showing off to her that i usually keep a little chapstick in a small compartment in my car (THE chapstick compartment that is not big enough to hold anything else!).
Me (thinking i'm so cool): you should keep this in your car!
Gift Receiver: are you sure? you don't think it will melt?
Me: nah, you'll be fine! i do it all the time.
GR: ok, thanks! how nice of you. : )
fast forward to today. about 75 degrees outside
Malissa decides that she needs her refreshing, minty chapstick on the way home and, OH LOOK, there it is in her favorite spot; she is reminded of just how smart and clever she is. she proceeds to rip the cap off and swing the (you guessed it) MELTED chapstick ALL OVER her car and her pants. think parafin wax bath all over hands, pants, steering wheel and seat (the tube WAS full).
lesson of the week: don't keep the chapstick in the cute compartment when you live south of the mason-dixon line!

Oh, this is a very important lesson! I have melted many a chapstick in my car. I will leave them in there during the winter and forget to take them out in the summer and then....presto melted chapstick.
Melted chapstick is the WORST! Although sometimes I am so desperate, I just use my finger and slather hot wax on my lips and wait for it to cool.
Oh, that is so sad. This happens to me all the time. I usually have Carmex spill on me at least once during the week.
