i have a friend who OFTEN says things just a little bit off....and then i try to literally visualize the things she says:
yesterday it was about a friend of hers who is in a wedding and needs to get the dress altercations done quickly...and all i can picture is her getting into a verbal/physical fight with her bridesmaid dress.
today she said "it just grits on my nerves".
this was more tough because picturing grits on nerves is just NOT easy...but i was still able to make this one out in my mind.
she also involuntarily says Canad-ia instead of Canada and, cannot for the life of her, make herself stop. it's comical.
i think that Amelia Bedelia and i were separated at birth

I love people who say these type of things. Remember I used to work with one of those people at the hospital. It makes me die with laughter.
I used to work at a newspaper and in our staff meeting every week, one of the reporters would tell us what her 'story ideals' were. Without fail, someone would say, 'you mean ideas' and she'd say, 'that's what I said, ideals'.
It drove me batty.
