i just wrote 2 separate checks that both amount to a total of $1.25.
why?
because i didn't have a lousy $1.25 in change for the 2 tolls between home and DC this weekend.
so, it will certainly cost way more than that for these 2 checks to be shipped and processed.
it's totally my fault for not having change (as the people SHOUTING behind me at the toll booth also reminded me).
give a girl a break.
it was so odd to write a check for .50 and .75. in the amount line i put "fifty cents and 00/100-------------" - i HOPE that was correct!!

Did you know that toll booth workers have a very high suicide rate?
