i am convinced

that at Cashier Training school they teach the people to use as many bags as possible.

no longer do we put eggs and bread in the same bag. or more than 4 cans of anything.

nope.

when i was a cashier (and i walked to work both ways uphill), i was SUPER efficient with my bag usage. and because of this i think i am more spatially aware in general.

but gone are those days. and that was when we weren't all "going green" as much.

so, now i have a new dilemma: i buy the reusable things, almost always forget them in my home, and i now have an overstock of both types - planet unfriendly and planet friendly.

just type in "plastic bags" in the google images and you may be scared straight as i just was. i saw a bird on a beach with it's head stuck in a plastic bag and for that i am not the same.

so....i'm vowing to get better. really, i am going to make a concerted effort to try.

I always forget my "green" bags, too. No matter how hard I try. . . it's hopeless.

Also, I have never heard the phrase "spatially aware". I must admit, that I'm not surprised that I am hearing it for the first time via your blog. :)

Have you ever seen the study done about the grossness (yes, technical term) that grows in those reusable bags? It's disgusting. And scary that it can be getting on your food - unless of course, you wash them regularly, but I doubt most people do.

I still get plastic, but we do use them for cleaning out the cat litter, daily. I'm sure the "green" people still don't like me, but it is what it is.

these revolutionized my "green bag" remembering -- www.envirosax.com. i seriously own at least 8 of them, and always have 2 or 3 in my purse or car door, since they're cute and tiny. i use them for everything, and yes.... probably don't wash them enough. but, i figure whatever is growing in them might just help counteract the antibacterial hand wash i use, and beef up the ol' immune system. check em' out! you'll like them!

I also have to get plastic bags for the cat box, but I also try to use the reusable bags when I can (remember them) because they can fit SO much more than plastic bags! I tell them at the store when I have the reusable bags to get them as full as possible and they look at me like I am crazy.

What is more annoying than having 10 bags too many is when I strategically place the items I want bagged together on the belt and then they don't bag them together that way. I want certain things together and I know all my box stuff will easily fit together nice and neat in a bag. But nooooooo, they just grab from all over and it is crazy and unorganized!
