a day late, and a dollar short.

i'm sure my friend (over at Written Permission) will forgive me for the tardiness of this post.  she knows all too well about the busy-ness of life that sort of gets in the way of being on time for EVERY LAST THING.

but, better late than never!

anyway, i wanted to publicly wish you the happiest of birthdays, my friend!  from the moment we met, you've always been a true gem in life.  i mean you let me, a mere stranger, sleep in your college loft bed.  not everyone would be so accommodating....

but onto the good stuff - you're an amazing mama, wife, friend, family member, sister, aunt and professional.  you take each of these roles seriously and i have constantly looked up to you and respected your opinion on matters of the heart and mind.

simply put - you're kind of like that sunset picture above (taken in your back yard) - subtly stunning.  it's quiet, steady, beautiful, calming, radiant and gentle.  kinda like you.  well, a LOT like you actually. 

thank you for your friendship, your wisdom, your love and all of the times you've stood by my side from afar.  i love you, friend and to say that i'm happy you were born is a real understatement.  HUGS!!
