doo, do, do, do, do, doo, doo, do do, doo do do do do dooo do do.

only a Bluffton University (ahem...Bluffton College) student would be able to actually sing the title of this post, but yes - it's that time of year once again.

the time where freshman students get to dress in lederhosen and dance around a maypole, really a dance of fertility.

what traditions did you have (love 'em or hate 'em) at your undergraduate university?

Of course, when one thinks of Ohio University, they immediately think of Halloween! And while it was a "tradition" of sorts...there were others:

- The Shuffle: a beer and a shot at EVERY bar on Court Street. and yes, by the end, you were shuffling home. Normally, everyone wore a "I'm doing the shuffle" T-shirt and often tried to find a way to connect themselves to others (tie a rope around waists, etc).

- attempting to climb Bong Hill. it was, i believe, private property and you risked arrest and/or being shot...but it was a MUST to get to the top. what you did up there was up to you.

- sledding Jeff Hill -- a very steep hill, dangerously icy in the winter. cafeteria trays were the daredevil way to go

I love that you typed out the tune to the May Pole song...

My personal favorite is the "Dooo" with the three o's

For the life of me, I can't remember the tune. I've been trying to hum your blog title for days. Dangit. Can you call and sing it to me? (I know... you can just picture me trying to hum it. At least I'm not trying to dance it.)

Okay, Quiet Oasis... who are you? We've been blogging friends and I just now realized that you would know the BC song. Hmm.... didn't realize we had that connection.

AND, Miss, HILARIOUS!!!! I will admit that I had to have Ryan hum the tune for me. I couldn't get it going in my head, now I can't get it out!

Other traditions at BC:
- sledding down the AT&T hill with Marbeck trays
- Ladies Night (Wednesdays) at Brandy's
- Playing ultimate frisbee

I'm sure there are more.... and I'm sure it depended on who you hung out with.
